Checkout Zerodegrees Micro-Brewery in 360 Awesomeness

Who would have thought a brewery in the middle of a pizza restaurant would be a success, but almost 20 years on, Zerodegrees has become a staple of beautiful Blackheath, South East London.

Located on the edge of the heath, the outside terrace makes for a wonderful summer spot. Walking inside, it’s spacious, light and intriguing. Venturing towards the centre of the space, where the brewery is housed, the sheer size of the brewery tanks hits you. They are massive!

Seated in a leather-backed chair in the fancy part of the restaurant, it feels like you could be in a Manor House dining room, a world away from the modern, industrial feel of the rest of the restaurant. On offer are over 20 varieties of wood oven fired pizzas, cooked in the open kitchen, along with a smaller selection of pasta and risottos. I highly recommend the pulled pork, scotch bonnet carnitas pizza (if you can handle the spice) or try the caramelised pear and Gorgonzola pizza for something more unusual.

Although the food is really tasty and surprisingly cheap for Blackheath (pizzas are all below £10) it is the magic of the brewery and the craft beers it creates that really keeps you coming back time and time again.

The 5 craft beers are all worth a taste, which already means you are likely to want to stay for at least a few hours and range from bitter Downtown American pale ale to sweet mango beer. But my favourite is the speciality beers, where the imagination can run wild. These beers come and go, as more are developed and created, and can take you on a tour of the world. Currently, on offer, there is a Polish wheat ale, Japanese rice lager, and Californian IPA.

Overall this exciting brewery, restaurant, and Blackheath top spot is a perfect way to spend a fun evening or long relaxing weekend. But be sure to take advantage of the view overlooking the heath on a sunny day from the outdoor terrace.

Enjoy your visit to Zerodegrees, and if you ever need a buddy to experience Zerodegree brewing experience with, let me know! I can’t wait to go back.
